Negulkökur

Clove cookies



Ingredients
 
250 g wheat flour
250 g brown sugar

125 g soft margarine
1 egg
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cloves


Preparation

Place all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and slowly knead into a smooth dough.


Then chill the dough in the refrigerator for around 1 hour.


Then preheat the oven to 350 °F (180 °C) upper/lower heat.

Form small balls out of the dough, place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper with enough space between them and gently flatten them slightly with a fork.


Bake in a preheated oven at 350 °F (180 °C) for 8 to 10 minutes until golden brown.

The taste of these clove cookies actually reminds me of speculoos!
