Skinkuhorn

Ham croissants

Ingredients for 16 pieces

400 g flour
20 g sugar
1 tsp salt
1 packet of dry yeast
250 ml warm milk
20 g melted margarine

4 slices of cooked ham
60 g spicy hard cheese

1 egg

Preparation

In a large bowl, mix the flour with the sugar, salt and dry yeast.

Pour in the warm milk and melted margarine...

...and work everything into a smooth dough. Then cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 3/4 hour until the yeast dough has risen nicely.

Then divide the dough into two portions, knead into balls and roll out into circles one after the other.

Cut each into 8 equal pieces with a knife.

Cut the four slices of ham into 4 equal “pie pieces”.

Cover the pieces of dough with the ham, add the grated cheese on the ham...

...and carefully roll it up from the outside.

Then let the filled croissants rise again for about 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 400 °F (200 °C) upper/lower heat.

Whisk the egg with the water and carefully brush the top of the croissants with it.

Then bake the ham croissants in a preheated oven at 400 °F (200 °C) for about 15 to 20 minutes until they are nice and golden brown.
