Jólaís á barnalandi

Christmas ice cream for toddlers -

Toblerone ice cream


Ingredients
 

500 ml whipping cream
6 egg yolks
240g brown sugar

1 tsp vanilla
100 g chopped Toblerone
1/2 tsp cinnamon


Preparation

Whip the cream until stiff.

Mix egg yolks and brown sugar until frothy...


...and mix in portions with the whipped cream.


Vanilla and chopped Toblerone...


...and add the cinnamon and let everything freeze into ice cream in the freezer (this is an ice cream that I don't like putting in the ice cream maker - I think it compromises the wonderfully creamy, soft structure of the ice cream).


This Toblerone version of the classic Jólaí is often very popular in Iceland, especially with children - honestly, I can understand it!
