Súkkulaðikaka

Chocolate cake

This chocolate cake contains a lot of chocolate and butter and eggs, but relatively little flour - and I think it tastes extremely delicious!

Ingredients

For the dough

200 g dark chocolate
200 g butter
4 eggs
2 Tbsp brown sugar
100 g wholemeal flour

For the cream

80 g butter
100 g dark chocolate
2 - 3 Tbsp honey

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350 °F (180 °C) upper and lower heat and prepare the dough:

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the dark chocolate with the butter...

... mix into a nice, uniform mass. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Separate the eggs.

Streak the egg whites with the sugar.

Fold the egg yolk into the chocolate-butter mixture.

Mix the egg white sugar mixture with the chocolate butter mixture.

Finally add the wholemeal flour and stir.

Place in a springform pan (approx. 24 cm) lined with baking paper and bake in a preheated oven at 350 °F (180 °C) upper and lower heat for about 30 minutes.

Then remove from the stove and let cool.

For the chocolate cream, melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Roughly chop the chocolate or break it into pieces and add it to the melted butter, let it melt and stir again and again.

Mix with the honey and let cool slightly.

Then spread the cream over the chocolate cake.

Let the cream set in the refrigerator and then serve the cake well chilled.
