Blueberry drink
This is basically a recipe for blueberry syrup, which is then infused with sparkling water and served well chilled.
Traditionally in Iceland this drink is prepared with "aðalbláber" - these berries are dark blue to almost black, smaller and not as sweet as "normal" blueberries and you can find them in many places in Iceland in late summer on the heath - and others behind ours too House on our little mountain.
It will still be a while before we can harvest here again!

300 g fresh blueberries
250 ml water
200 g brown sugar
Preparation
Wash and clean the blueberries.
Then put the blueberries in a pot with the water and sugar and bring everything to the boil .
When it boils, reduce the heat and let it simmer for another 5 minutes.
Then strain the liquid two to three times through a sieve and pour it into a boiled bottle or something similar.
To drink, pour some blueberry syrup into a glass, fill with sparkling water and serve well chilled.
In hot weather, a few ice cubes in a glass are also very good.
