Lakkríshringur

Liquorice rings

When life gives you licorice almonds - bake donuts with them!

Ingredients

125 g flour
100 g sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 pinch of ground vanilla
1 large egg
50 g rapeseed oil
50 g sour milk
2 large bans
60 g licorice almonds

Oil for the donut baking pan

1 Tbsp melted butter
100 g maple syrup
120 g powdered sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 pinch of ground vanilla
40 g licorice almonds

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 425 °F (220 °C) upper/lower heat.

First mix the flour with the sugar, baking soda, cinnamon and ground vanilla.

Then stir in the egg, oil and sour milk.

Mash the bananas thoroughly...

...and also fold it into the dough.

Finally, grind the licorice almonds for the dough...

...and stir briefly into the dough.

Grease a baking pan for donuts or similar well.

Divide the dough evenly between the molds...

...and bake in a preheated oven at 425 °F (220 °C) upper and lower heat for about 8 minutes (test with a toothpick!).

Then take the baking tray out of the oven, let it cool down very well and then carefully remove the rings from the tin.

For the glaze...

...first chop the remaining licorice almonds into small pieces.

Then mix the melted butter with the maple syrup, powdered sugar, cinnamon and ground vanilla,...

...spread on the donuts and then sprinkle directly with the chopped almonds.

Let the glaze set in the fridge and then serve.
