Jólahátið 2024

We wish you all a Merry Christmas 2024!

We celebrated Christmas Eve with the family. First, we went to church, then we sat outside on the terrace around the fire and sang Christmas carols. Afterward, we opened presents and ate way too much food...

But I'm very happy – all the Christmas presents are finished in time for the holidays. I was even able to use the last few days to do a little knitting and protect other loved ones from the big, bad Christmas cat – you know, new clothes are the only thing that saves you when the Christmas cat is lurking outside...!

For Child 2's friend, I knitted a bobble hat based on a pattern from LOPI magazine 34, which I bought at a supermarket in Reykjavík in the fall. The hat has a long cuff, and I knitted it (unlike the pattern) in dark red and natural tones.

The first hat was wonderfully easy!

And because the pattern was so wonderfully simple and the knitting went much faster than I had thought, I went straight on and knitted another hat for my daughter, who had loved the first one so much, this time in pink, red, white and glittery blue, with matching bobble ears.

And since it still wasn't Christmas, I was even able to knit myself a black and colorful hat with chic black bobble ears. Now I have some protection from the Christmas cat just in time! (Even though my husband is wearing the hat in this picture.)

All three hats turned out well, and I'm very happy with the result! Now I can enjoy Christmas... Happy Holidays!

And so I can continue knitting well next year, I got a tailor's dummy for Christmas, so I can let off some steam now. Oh, I'm so happy!
