My current knitting project

The next cat hat

The “cats of Reykjavík” are legendary.

For many in Reykjavík, it's THE cat capital of the world—when you walk through the city, you'll encounter the city's cats everywhere. Most of them are outdoor cats and roam the city during the day.

Even in a café (like here in Café Babalú), when in doubt, someone will suddenly sit next to you and watch you curiously.

For cat lovers, a visit to the cat café "Kattakaffihús" in Bergstaðastræti is definitely worthwhile.

At the beginning of the year, I knitted a cat hat as a spontaneous birthday present for my sister. I decided on the black yarn right away, in memory of her black cat, and the other color was simply leftover yarn I had.

The hat was a huge hit with cat fans, so I knitted a second cat hat. Again with black cats, the light blue border and pink background were a special request.

As a "short project," I'm currently knitting a third cat hat—this time with two cats, one black and one reddish-brown. Both with bright yellow eyes. I think this is going to be a hit!

So if you like this cat pattern, you can easily knit it yourself!

I think I particularly like this 2-cat hat!
